In this article, I will share with you, as an example, how the fashion and apparel industry can become more focused on wellness in order to increase sales. However, I am speaking also on behalf of every industry that wants to support its customers and clients by having their business be a part of the modern wellness trend.

The wellness trend can be incorporated into any business model and in every industry. Whether you work in the spa, fitness, retail, film, health, food, music, advertising, or gardening industry, every industry can capitalize on the booming wellness trend occurring.

The global wellness economy is valued at $4.5 trillion dollars and growing every year. Why is this? One reason is that 40% of people have a chronic illness. Everyone wants to find new ways to feel better.

The wellness trend is something to be more aware of, and it can become a part of every lifestyle and every person’s ethics, vision, personal story, and business. Businesses are already naturally and intuitively incorporating wellness-inspired branding and marketing to support their customers. Yet, we can enhance business and sales growth even more when we start creating more wellness-inspired branding and marketing plans, ideas, and strategies.

The Coronavirus Prompted the Modern Wellness Trend

The coronavirus brought attention to the public that there are ways to protect people from illness. Businesses have been inspired and influenced by introducing more self-care, personal wellness, and alternative health products and services.

As an important part of people’s healthy lifestyle, even after COVID, more and more people and businesses are still going to be more aware of health concerns and continue to keep people safe and healthy.

Incorporating the Wellness Trend in the Fashion Industry

Fashion used as a modern wellness treatment is a part of having a healthy lifestyle. Fashion for health is still a new movement and a new concept for the fashion industry, however, it is happening.

The athleisure apparel trend is booming. The athleisure and activewear market is the top two biggest markets in the fashion industry. Athleisure and activewear brands have had an increase in sales since the coronavirus started.

In an NPD Group ‘Future of Apparel’ report, athleisure now accounts for 24% of US apparel. Workleisure and athleisure is a long-term trend because comfortable apparel naturally supports the mind, body, and spirit. When we are comfortable, we feel better. Life is easier when we are comfortable. People simply want to be comfortable. More and more people are starting to create or wear apparel and accessories specifically designed to support a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

Healthy, therapeutic apparel and accessories are being produced and advertised in every fashion market. If you are not an athleisure or activewear brand, or if it is not your type of style, you can still be inspired by athleisure and activewear apparel designs and use elements of these designs to create a comfortable look.

Additionally, wearable technology has increased, like heart monitors to make sure a heart is healthy or fashion apps that help people plan out a wardrobe to save time. These products and services are all used as lifestyle activities to make life better.

A Few Specific Ways to Incorporate the Wellness Trend into a Business

Note: There are so many different ways and concepts that you can use to incorporate the modern wellness trend into a business.

  1. Kind and friendly customer service practices create a healthy environment for the customer. Additionally, communicating in a way that shows businesses want their customers to be happy and well is a part of the modern wellness trend.
  2. Therapeutic visual imagery and color patterns used in graphic ads and media to make people feel content and calm or inspired, and excited. These types of emotions are necessary for health.
  3. Add more wellness tips and health suggestions related to your product and service.
  4. Create a healthy, holistic positive vision, mission, and message that supports you, your business, and your customer.
  5. Selling a product that will make your customer feel better is a part of incorporating the wellness trend into your branding and marketing plan. Make advertising promotions on how your product or service is healthy and how it contributes to health and wellbeing.

Everyone is looking for new ways to cope. There are thousands of therapies, healing modalities, and remedies that help people, and these therapies can be used daily.

If you already have a company that is inspired by the wellness trend, or if you are thinking of using the wellness trend to support your business, your business will expand, and your business sales will increase. Additionally, we can always be more influenced by creating a healthier business, as it can only help us.

The legendary designer Coco Chanel once said: “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” We can use this quote as a form of inspiration to bring modern wellness into everything–the sky, the stars, and the street–and when we bring modern wellness into our own lives as a lifestyle, and into our own business, modern wellness becomes a part of everything, and everyone will be inspired.
